Club History

The St. John Paul II High School Interact Club was established to model the humanitary work of Rotary International. The latter part of the 2014-2015 academic school year school our school counselor, Ted Garcia, met with a group of students who attend a few organizational meetings to determine the level of interest in forming a club with the sponsorship of Rotary Club of Southside Corpus Christi, Texas. A few of the students had attended Rotary Youth Leadership Award camps in the past, and their experiences at those leadership programs provided additional student motivation to form our club. Our inaugural installation program was conducted on March 30, 2015. We are all charter members

National History

Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people aged 14 to 18. Interact clubs are generally sponsored by a Rotary club or clubs, which provide support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting. Interact helps students develop leadership skills and personal integrity, demonstrate helpfulness and respect for others, understand the value of individual responsibility and hard work and advances international understanding and world peace. Interact is one of the most significant and fastest growing programs in Rotary, with more than 10,700 clubs in 109 countries and geographical areas, and with more than 200,000 members.
